Why Families Choose Lavington Designs
Looking for personalized embroidered gifts that become treasured keepsakes? At Lavington Designs, we've spent more than 14 years helping families celebrate life's biggest moments with personalized stuffed animals, monogrammed towels, embroidered baby gifts, travel bags, wedding gifts, and thoughtful keepsakes made with care.
Every Personalized Gift Begins with a Story
Before a baby's name is carefully embroidered onto a stuffed animal…
Before a monogram is stitched onto a set of luxurious bath towels…
Before a travel bag is personalized for a honeymoon, a graduation, or a family vacation…
Every gift begins the same way.
With someone who loves another person enough to want their gift to be unforgettable.
Maybe you're a grandmother searching for the perfect baby shower gift.
Maybe you're an excited aunt who wants to give something that no one else will think of.
Maybe you're a proud parent decorating the nursery for the little one you've dreamed about for months.
Or maybe you're celebrating a wedding, an anniversary, a baptism, a birthday, an adoption, a graduation, Christmas morning, or another milestone that deserves to be remembered long after the day has passed.
Whatever brought you here, I want you to know something.
You're not just shopping for a personalized gift.
You're searching for a way to say...
"I love you."
"Congratulations."
"I'm so happy for you."
"You'll always remember this day."
Sometimes the most meaningful words are never spoken.
They're stitched.
That's what Lavington Designs has been about from the very beginning.
Not simply creating personalized gifts.
Helping people celebrate life's most precious moments.
Welcome to My Little Corner of the World
Hi, I'm Teresa, and I'm so happy you're here.
If you've found your way to Lavington Designs, chances are you're looking for something that feels a little more personal than what you'll find in a big-box store or from a mass-produced online retailer.
You're looking for a gift that tells someone, "I didn't just pick this off a shelf. I chose it just for you."
That's exactly why I started Lavington Designs.
More than fourteen years ago, I began with a single embroidery machine and a dream of creating beautiful personalized gifts that families would treasure.
What started as a small dream has grown into a family business with three embroidery machines, thousands of wonderful customers across the United States, and the privilege of helping celebrate some of life's happiest moments.
We've embroidered gifts for newborn babies, excited grandparents, newlyweds, graduates, growing families, children starting school, travelers beginning new adventures, and families honoring loved ones through meaningful memorial keepsakes.
Although our business has grown over the years, one thing has never changed.
Every order still matters to me.
Because I know every gift matters to you.
More Than a Gift
One of the things I've learned over the years is that people rarely remember every gift they receive.
But they do remember how a gift made them feel.
That's why I don't think of embroidery as simply adding a name to a product.
I think of it as helping tell someone's story.
A baby's first day.
A couple's wedding.
A child's birthday.
A family's newest addition.
A graduation that took years of hard work.
A Christmas tradition that returns year after year.
Those aren't ordinary moments.
They're the moments we talk about years later.
They're the moments we photograph.
They're the moments we celebrate.
And if I'm lucky enough to create a personalized gift that's part of one of those memories, I consider that an incredible privilege.
That's something I'll never take for granted.
The Gift You'll Be Proud to Give
There is one thing I say often when people ask what makes Lavington Designs different.
I don't just want the person receiving your gift to love it.
I want you to feel proud when you give it.
As I'm working on your order, I often picture the moment it will be opened.
I imagine new parents smiling as they see their baby's name beautifully embroidered for the first time.
I picture grandparents wiping away happy tears.
I think about a child hugging their personalized stuffed animal before bedtime.
I imagine someone opening a beautifully embroidered travel bag before a honeymoon or a family vacation.
Those moments matter.
They're why I carefully create every design, send every proof, and pay attention to every detail.
Because when someone opens your gift, I want you to have that quiet little moment where you smile to yourself and think,
"I absolutely nailed it."
If I can help create that feeling, then I've done exactly what I set out to do when I started Lavington Designs.
Why Every Gift Is Personal to Me
People sometimes ask me how I decided to start creating personalized embroidered gifts.
The truth is, I simply fell in love with the idea that a gift could become part of someone's family story.
One memory stands out more than any other.
Years ago, when my own children were babies, we carefully wrote their birth information inside a baby book. Their names, birthdays, birth weights, lengths, and the time they entered the world were precious details we wanted to remember forever.
Like so many families, we tucked those baby books safely away.
Then one day, I saw something that completely changed the way I thought about keepsakes.
It was a stuffed animal embroidered with a baby's birth statistics.
I remember thinking, "How wonderful is this?"
Instead of those precious details being hidden inside a book, they became part of something that could be displayed in a nursery, photographed with a newborn, cuddled during bedtime, and treasured as a keepsake for years to come.
I fell in love with the idea immediately.
Not because it was trendy.
Not because it was different.
Because it told a story.
That moment inspired me to begin creating birth statistics stuffed animals for other families, and it reminded me why I love embroidery so much.
Embroidery has a way of turning an everyday gift into something deeply personal.
Whether it's a baby's birth details stitched onto a stuffed animal, a family monogram on beautiful bath towels, a child's name on a backpack for their first day of school, or initials on a travel bag for a once-in-a-lifetime honeymoon, personalization transforms an item into something no one else in the world has.
That's what I love creating.
Not products.
Keepsakes.
We Create Your Gift Together
One of the things that makes Lavington Designs different is that I don't believe creating a personalized gift is something I do for you.
I believe it's something we create together.
You know the person receiving the gift.
You know their personality.
You know what colors they'll love.
You know the story behind the gift.
My job is to take everything you've shared and bring it to life through embroidery.
You choose the stuffed animal, blanket, towel, travel bag, or gift.
You choose the thread colors.
You choose the font that feels just right.
You share the names, dates, monograms, or meaningful words that make the gift uniquely yours.
Then I carefully design everything so it comes together beautifully.
I've always thought of it as a partnership.
The finished gift isn't just something I made.
It's something we created together.
I think that's one of the reasons my customers tell me they enjoy working with Lavington Designs.
They're never just placing an order.
They're part of the creative process.
Why Every Order Includes a Design Proof
One of the questions I hear from customers is,
"Do you really send a proof before you embroider?"
Absolutely.
In fact, it's one of my favorite parts of the process.
Your personalized gift represents an important moment in someone's life.
Maybe it's a newborn baby's birth details.
Maybe it's a wedding gift that will be displayed in a couple's home for years.
Maybe it's a memorial gift honoring someone deeply loved.
Those moments deserve more than a quick click of a machine.
Before I embroider a single stitch, I send you a design proof so you can see exactly how your personalization will look.
You'll know where the embroidery will be placed.
You'll see your font choice.
You'll see your thread colors.
Most importantly, you'll have the opportunity to make changes if something doesn't feel exactly right.
Maybe you'd like a different shade of blue.
Maybe another font feels more elegant.
Maybe you simply want the name centered a little differently.
That's perfectly okay.
I want you to be excited before I even begin embroidering.
Because once you approve your design, we're both confident that we're creating something truly special.
Why Embroidery Will Always Be My Choice
There are many ways to personalize a gift today.
Some businesses use printed transfers.
Some use heat-applied vinyl.
Some use direct printing.
Those methods certainly have their place.
For me, however, embroidery has always been the gold standard.
There's something timeless about thousands of stitches carefully sewn into fabric.
Embroidery has texture.
Depth.
Character.
It becomes part of the gift itself instead of simply sitting on top of it.
When I hold one of our embroidered stuffed animals or wrap a finished monogrammed towel, I love running my hand across the stitching.
It feels substantial.
It feels elegant.
It feels like something made to last.
That's exactly what I want every gift from Lavington Designs to become.
Not just something beautiful today.
Something beautiful for years to come.
The Part That Still Makes Me Nervous
People are often surprised when I tell them that after more than fourteen years, I still get a little nervous before I begin embroidering a personalized order.
Not because I doubt my embroidery.
Because I care.
I want every name spelled perfectly.
I want every thread color to complement the gift beautifully.
I want every stitch to look clean and professional.
Most of all, I want the finished gift to look exactly the way you imagined it when you placed your order.
I think that's why I still inspect every finished piece so carefully before it leaves my shop.
I know you're trusting me with an important gift.
I never want to lose sight of that responsibility.
My goal has never been to create as many gifts as possible as quickly as possible.
My goal is much simpler.
To create one beautiful gift at a time that both of us are proud to share.
That's why every order still feels personal to me.
What My Customers Have Taught Me
When I first started Lavington Designs, I thought I was in the embroidery business.
Fourteen years later, I've learned something very different.
I'm in the memory-making business.
The gifts I create become part of birthdays, baby showers, weddings, anniversaries, baptisms, adoptions, graduations, Christmas mornings, and countless family celebrations. Long after the wrapping paper is gone, those gifts often remain.
One of the greatest blessings of owning Lavington Designs is hearing from customers after they've given their gifts.
Those emails never get old.
Some tell me the new parents couldn't stop smiling.
Others tell me their personalized gift became everyone's favorite at the baby shower.
Some simply write, "They loved it."
Those three little words mean more to me than I can explain.
Because I know that somewhere, a customer walked into a room holding one of my embroidered gifts, hoping they had chosen something meaningful.
And when they tell me the recipient loved it, I can almost picture the smile on their face.
One customer shared something I'll never forget.
After sending her mother a set of personalized embroidered towels, she received a voicemail that said:
"The towels arrived and they are absolutely gorgeous... They're the most beautiful towels I've ever seen... Everything you touch is exquisite."
I smiled from ear to ear when I heard it.
Not because someone complimented my work.
Because a daughter had the joy of giving her mom a gift that made her feel so loved.
Another customer wrote:
"The personalized giraffe is exactly what I had envisioned."
Those words are incredibly meaningful to me because that's exactly what I hope every customer feels.
Not "close enough."
Not "pretty good."
Exactly what they imagined.
Another shared:
"The new parents loved the gift!"
That simple sentence says everything.
It's why I do what I do.
And then there are the messages that remind me why taking my time matters.
One customer noticed a tiny red thread on an embroidered quilt. It wasn't something most people would have seen, but she noticed it.
Within hours, I had already made another quilt and sent it to her.
Was it extra work?
Of course.
Was it worth it?
Absolutely.
Because when someone trusts me with a gift for one of life's most important moments, I want them to know I'll stand behind my work.
Every single time.
Those aren't just customer reviews to me.
They're reminders that kindness, communication, quality, and genuinely caring about people still matter.
They remind me why I started this journey in the first place.
Twenty Years From Now...
Sometimes, while I'm embroidering a baby's name onto a stuffed animal, my mind wanders years into the future.
I imagine that little baby growing up.
Learning to walk.
Starting school.
Celebrating birthdays.
Going off to college.
Beginning a family of their own.
Then I picture them opening a keepsake box tucked away in a closet or on a shelf.
Inside is the personalized stuffed animal someone gave them when they were born.
Their tiny birth weight.
Their birthday.
Their name.
Still stitched into the fabric.
The threads may be a little softer from years of love.
The stuffed animal may show signs of countless hugs.
But the story is still there.
And maybe their mom smiles as she tells them who gave it to them.
Maybe Grandma remembers picking it out.
Maybe everyone laughs while sharing stories about that exciting day.
That is what I hope every personalized gift becomes.
Not just something beautiful.
Something meaningful.
Something that becomes part of your family's story.
Why Families Continue to Choose Lavington Designs
There are many wonderful places to buy personalized gifts today.
I'm truly grateful that so many families choose my little shop.
I believe it comes down to a few simple things.
I treat every order like it's important because it is.
I believe communication matters, so I answer questions, offer suggestions, and send design proofs before embroidery begins.
I believe quality matters, so I carefully inspect every gift before it leaves my shop.
I believe relationships matter, so I never want anyone to feel like they're just another order number.
And I believe personalized gifts should feel personal from beginning to end.
Whether you're ordering an embroidered stuffed animal with birth statistics, a personalized baby blanket, monogrammed bath towels, a backpack for a child's first day of school, a travel bag for a honeymoon, or a thoughtful wedding, graduation, memorial, or anniversary gift, I hope you feel the same care and attention in every stitch.
Because that's exactly how they're made.
My Promise to You
If you choose Lavington Designs, I want you to know what you're trusting me with.
You're not simply asking me to embroider a name.
You're inviting me to become a small part of one of your family's happiest memories.
That's something I'll never take lightly.
I promise to listen.
I promise to communicate.
I promise to send you a design proof before I begin.
I promise to carefully embroider every gift with the same attention I would want if I were creating it for my own family.
Most of all, I promise to remember that behind every order is a person you love.
That thought has guided me from the very beginning, and I hope it always will.
A Letter From Teresa
If you've read this far, I want to say something from my heart.
Thank you.
Thank you for taking the time to learn about my family business.
Thank you for believing that personalized gifts still matter in a world where so many things are made quickly and forgotten just as fast.
Most of all, thank you for considering Lavington Designs to help you celebrate someone you love.
People often thank me for creating the perfect gift.
The truth is, we created it together.
You chose the gift.
You chose the colors.
You shared the story, the names, the dates, and the memories that make it special.
I simply had the privilege of bringing your vision to life through embroidery.
That's why I don't think of my customers as transactions.
I think of them as partners.
Together, we create gifts that celebrate life's biggest moments.
My greatest hope isn't simply that the person receiving your gift loves it.
My greatest hope is that you experience that wonderful little moment when they open it and you quietly think...
"I absolutely nailed it."
If I can help create that feeling, then I've accomplished everything I set out to do when I started Lavington Designs over fourteen years ago.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for allowing my family to become a small part of yours.
I truly can't wait to create something beautiful with you.
With gratitude,
Teresa
